Also, check out this link:

Maybe if you tried fenugreek you would have an easier time of pumping.

Sounds like it's your pump that's not very effective at getting the milk out. I know that WIC in some states will give you a pump for free but that's not the case in other states. I have a friend in Ohio who got an Ameda Purely Yours for free. The Lansinoh double electric pump is the same thing and is available at Walmart for about $150. If you can afford that one it works very well.

We have tried the breastflow bottles and they work well for us.

If you have to formula feed during the day it's still very possible to keep up with bfing at night. I hope you find something that works for you!

What kind of pump do you have? I bought a "double" breast pump which pumps both sides at one time. When I first tried it, I knew nothing about pumping and just did one side, and I wasn't getting anything. Then I decided to pump both at one time, and milk finally came out! If you don't have a double pump, I would recommend getting one. I know they're expensive, but I actually got mine from Craig's List for a fraction of the cost (I bought my own breast shields of course). There's tons of them on there. I can probably bet you that if you try that, you'll have a lot better luck pumping.

I think right now while I am working I am going to give her formula....I only work like 15 hours a week pretty much four hour shifts at a time...I plan on only giving her formula until we can afford to get a new breast pump...We are moving and dont really have the money to get a new one right now...maybe in a few weeks...

I know its gonna be a struggle to get her to eat formula when I am gone...she has done it before...but its a fight...but I guess that is what is gonna have to be done til we can afford a new breast pump..

Daddy isn't very happy about this descion..but what he doesnt realize is in order to get enough breastmilk pumped I would have to be constantly attached to that breast pump or her all day long!! I wouldn't be able to get anything else done!!

So I guess I gotta do what I gotta do til we can get a new one...anyone else been down this road??

Not sure if you had any luck with WIC, but I got my pump from my local hospital. Both hospital in my area sell brand new pumps, for cheaper than the store. Still expensive, but like someone else said, formula will cost about $100 a month. So you'll get your money's worth, and make up for the cost in a short time.

If you were able to get a double electric, you could pump during your commute to work. You don't need the expensive Freestyle to do that. As long as you can get a vehicle adaptor(about $20), you could cut slits in an old sports bra, and make your own "handsfree device". That's been a lifesaver for me! It also upped my supply as well. That, and pumping after my son goes to bed, to get a headstart on his next day's supply!

Hi!
I live in Texas and am getting a hospital grade pump from my local WIC office because of supply issues! I am on a list to get it next week (they were out when I went this week) so it may be worth your time to look into. It's a pain in the rear process but worth the savings of the $65 a month i was spending to rent one

I know I'm a little late responding to this, but if you're counting the drops that fall into the bottle you might as well not pump at all, our bodies work through hormones and stress that affects those hormones. So try to keep calm, think about your baby and how much you love breastfeeding, and don't set that thing on high! You should work your way to finding a setting that's comfortable and best mimicks baby's sucking pattern. Sometimes if you put it on high all you do is hurt your nipples. Another thing, if your breast is falling out of the pump, the flanges are too small, some pumps come with an insert for more comfort and fit. Does yours come with one?
Pumping for your LO is almost like producing for another baby, so taking the herbal supplements might help, but pumping in between sessions is also good. It "trains" the body to produce more. HTH
