What would happen if you just froze the Thursday milk without scalding and then thawed it 4 days later on Tuesday?

Mine starts tasting off pretty fast if I store it in the fridge, but you might be able to get away with using Tuesday milk on Thursday if that's her first bottle that day. All depends on how fast your lipase works.

I'm not sure Susan. At this point, I'm just going to scald anything I freeze since I'll want to rotate the freezer stock anyway.

I am going to see how long it takes to go bad in the fridge. If it won't last until Thursday from Tuesday, then Lilah will just get whatever's left over Wednesday night. I don't need to end up with hundreds of ounces in the freezer again.

    Hi Tracie,
I thought my lipase problem disappeared since I did a fridge test w/ some milk. Well I had to use some of my freezer stash a couple of months ago & unfortunately the milk I didn't scald smelled horrible. Needless to say, my LO would not drink it. Now I scald all freezer milk. Better safe than sorry!!
