    Default baby playing with nipples

my 18 day old daughter breastfeeds well and is gaining weight beautifully. Today she has started playing with my nipple when she is done eating. It's mostly with her tongue, but when she starts pushing it in and out of her mouth, she sometimes clamps down hard.
Not sure if this is going to continue or is a short lived thing.
i've tried offering a pacifier since she is a comfort suckler as well, but she refuses entirely,
    ideas?

I would say something like, don't bite mommy, and close up my bra, pull down my shirt. I know your Lo is too young to understand your words but you definitely don't want this to become a habit. Clamping/biting with teeth is awful.

Cool Re: baby playing with nipples

My daughter is 4 months and she does the same thing. Try different kinds of binkys, because she refuses some and takes others.

With my youngest son, I had to pay close attention to see when he was done eating because he had a bad habit of doing that as well. As soon as he seemed to be done, I would unlatch him and put him on the other side or just hold him. This was very short lived, so hang in there mama!

My son clamps, turns his head and pulls off while still clamped. Drives me a little crazy. I just end the session when he does that. He won't take a pacifier either - he's 4 months - but just discovered his thumb.
