I am 29 years old. I got pregnant with twins on our 4th IVF try. I delivered our twin girls via emergency c-section due to preclampsia. My twin girls were 34 weeks and 5 days at the time of delivery. They spent a week in the NICU learning how to stay awake to eat, they learned by using a bottle. My milk came in the 4th day after delivery. I had started pumping the day after they were born. I started out getting 3-6 milliliters per breast and it built up to 15-20 milliliters per breast. At one point I got 20-30 mls per breast the 2nd day we were home. Since then, my milk supply has gone down and down and down. I am pumping every 3 hours during the day and every 4-5 hours at night in effort to get some sleep in order to try to build up my supply, however I am only getting 2-3 mls per breast. I am very upset by this, I started taking Fenugreek 2 days ago and have not noticed a difference. Before that I was take More Milk Plus by Motherlove drops. My girls have to use a nipple shield, I have tried without it, but their mouths are not big enough. I have had a total of 3 sessions with a lactation consultant and have tried a SNS system. Breastfeeding has become very frustrating for my babies, because they are not getting any milk with their sucking, and very frustrating and upsetting for me, because my body is not cooperating. I am using a Symphony double breast pump and pump 15-20 minutes at a time. Is there any hope fore me?
