So I found today that doing a breast ultrasound costs $1,900. With our insurance paying only 60% after a deductible we'd have to pay over $900 for it. We unfortunately can't afford paying so much .

Have you tried contacting a good lactation consultant or a nutritionalist? I know that you said money is a factor... I was able to find an excellent (I mean EXCELLENT) lactation consultant who worked privately (not through a hospital) and charged me $120 total. I used her as a consultant throughout the first year of bf and called her on occasion while bf my second child and never paid more than the initial $120. Also, I know that you said you eat very healthy and I'm sure that is true, but maybe a nutritionalist or holistic doctor could give more advice - maybe you have become allergic to something you eat, or something in your hormones is "off?" Anyway, just a couple of things that came to mind. I hope you can figure this out and go back to better bf.

Big hugs to you! Try getting gse in a tablet form. It's easier to take more. The drops were nasty and burned my mouth. The pills are pretty cheap. You want the kind with citradil(sp?) in them.

Eta: maybe this is dumb, but I just googled home ultrasound machines and saw a bunch for $100 or so! I was going to buy one years ago when I had carpel tunnel issues.
