    Default feeling sad

Well I think Wade is self weaning.. I am not sure how I feel about this.. but he only nurses before bed now.. and just for a few minutes.. and then I lay him down and he falls asleep on his own.. I am so thankful for the time I have been able to nurse him.. Just makes me sad to know that he is almost done.. and he is probely the last baby I will have. but I am grateful that I am able to let him do this on his own.. and I have the most amazing spouse who supports breastfeeding and self weaning.. I don't think I could of done this without him..

You are such an amazing mother, Allie. I know you already know that you've given Wade a wonderful gift by nursing him as long as you have and letting him decide when he is done. for you and your super supportive DH.

it dosen't sound bad at all, it's exactly how I felt and luckily Silas did hang on for a while. first it was every night, then every few nights, then once a week or so, and finally he last nursed in Sept a week after we returned from LA

about 1 month before his third BDay

Towards the end Daniel would go two weeks without nursing, then have a session, and go two weeks again, repeat. I couldn't pinpoint when he weaned. It was so gradual. The cool thing about him weaning: he became affectionate in other ways. I got more hugs, cuddles, and kisses.
