And this was straight through - DH didn't get up with baby at all.

Before, baby had been waking to nurse at about 5 am which was brutal for me. I can deal with 6 am - and if he doesn't go back to sleep it's not a too crazy early start to the day.
    Yay!!

Ok, after reading Jenn's thread something clicked. I backed off a bit and went back to it at the end of last week. It just seem that from the time of my last post to now, she seem to have reached a new level of understanding. So for the past 5 days or so she's nursed, snuggled to sleep and have not nursed again until 4:30am. The first two nights she complained but not extensively. I think the trick is I stopped saying, "no more nursies until tomorrow'' and started saying, "we'll nurse in the morning." Seemed to make a difference. We're still getting up once or twice to pee, but she hugs me and goes back to sleep each time.

Wow! that's great! And a good reminder to tell toddlers what you want them to do and not what you don't want them to do.

He probably won't hear it regardless of who says it.

    You're absolutely right Tracie.

Tiff - that's great to hear!

Glimmer of hope .... DH has been working nights, so I've been trying to get M back to sleep without nursing in the middle of the night. We've done some dancing and singing and eventually he's calmed down, had some water & gone back to sleep.

apparently all it took is me leaving the state for 5 days for Bennett to back off
I actually have tried to nurse (even though I told DH I wouldn't ) since I've been back just to "connect" since Bennett seemed so standoffish, and he'll do it for a few seconds pop off and go back to sleep. He's been sleeping great this past week I hope I didn't jinx it by saying so!
But Bill did get a taste my many sleepless nights while I was away, Bennett hardly slept the first three nights. I *almost* felt bad for DH. His mom let him have a nap after he got out of work

Last night was a success! She didn't nurse to sleep and didn't ask to nurse when she woke up twice to pee. I actually offered to nurse her at 5am because she wasn't ready to wake up but was fidgeting. Also, 2y molars are finally moving.
