    Default breasts hurt- badly!

My LO is just about 11 mos old. She still nurses frequently. However, as of lately, my breasts have been hurting so bad. Very painful when she latches and I always make sure she is latched properly, but I am not sure why I have this pain. Any thoughts?

Can you describe the pain? Do you have a tender spot on your breast, all-over breast pain, or nipple soreness? Is the pain only sometimes (like at first latch on, or let down) or all the time?

It's almost like a burning feeling and its the nipple and aerola area. It hurts when she first latches. And the burning lasts for a few then goes away.

Thrush is a common cause of burning sensations, and also of pain that crops up after months of pain-free nursing. Pregnancy (any chance?) or the return of your menstrual cycle could also be responsible for the pain.
Coolest thing my big girl said recently: "How can you tell the world is moving when you are standing on it?"
Coolest thing my little girl sang recently: "I love dat one-two pupples!"
