Default Baby keeps pushing away at my breast!

Hi ladies! Rough night last night. Chloe has started to push away at my breast sometimes. She did it several times last night. I get her latched she stays on for 1-2mins and then starts pushing away at my breast and fussing. I try and calm her and relatch and she does the same thing. Last night she was up almost every hour to nurse and she did it almost every time. I try and relax but it gets frustrating. Any ideas as to why she is doing this? She latches great all day! Just in night it seems to be an issue.

are you feeding her in a different position at night? have you tried switching sides? austin used to do that sometimes, but it seemed like when he was really hungry, he would get all frantic and push it away. but also, he had reflux so sometimes if he was too reclined he wasnt into it.....maybe try feeding her today in the same setting as last night and see what happens??

Yeah I would switch from football hold to crossover hold. Last night I got her to finally eat by standing up and nursing her.

Are you possibly going longer between feeds at night? I was just thinking that it sounded like when I was engorged...Wyatt would do the same think, also I have OALD and he would get mad b/c the milkie was coming out too fast.

Not really. It is usually 2hrs between a feed. I am wondering could she have gas? I burp her after every feeding but she never burps.

FWIW, when Shiloh got crazy like that at night, I'd swaddle him and then nurse him. I didn't force him to eat of course, but without his arms flailing around, he was able to settle down and eat.

For some reason he would get all discombobulated and would freak out, thrasing around. I'd wrap him up, and he'd settle down and do his thing! To this day I have no idea why he used to freak out like that, but it worked, so we didn't question it!
