    Hmm, my DD2's upper lip looks just like this too. Just noticed it the other day!

    Here's a great presentation on tongue and lip. The lip stuff is toward the end.

    Ladies my SIL, who is a dental assistant, assures me that my LO's is normal but I am worried.

    What do you think?

    NOT normal, that is a super bad lip tie. I would definitely get it clipped now to prevent future dental problems and it will probably help with BF. My DD had a minor one and getting it clipped helped a lot!

    So we go in wednesday to get the lip tie cut. Turns out my dentist has experience with it in infants, he is very gentle and quick so I think he is our best choice. Anyone gone through this? Do you have any tips for making this procedure and healing as easiest as possible? Also should I be concerned that the dentist won't be using a laser to make the cut?

    Yes...check out the presentation I posted earlier in the thread. It is the best one I've ever seen on tongue and lip ties.

    I am going tomorrow as well too, they scheduled us in for an hr - so if it is present they will clip it. I am so nervous. I feel so bad to put her through pain!
