Camden was early, extracted by C-section, and I wasn't allowed to attempt to feed him till nearly 4 days after his arrival.
While I am truly thankful to the nurses of the NICU and consider them a God Send, I feel like something was stolen from me now that Camden won't latch and I'm a SAHM and still have to pump every 3 hours.
He was 6lbs at birth and had respiratory issues which facilitated his stay in the NICU. He was discharged 6 days later with a clean bill of health at 5lbs 10oz and at his first Peds appt a week later, he had surpassed his birth weight by 1.4oz, so he was 6lbs 1.4oz.
We still spend time attempting to latch and feed, but not having any luck. I'm a 'large' breasted woman and am hoping that isn't the problem. I've been in touch with my local LLL Leader and haven't heard back from her. If nothing by tomorrow, I'll go outside my area to the next LLL Leader for help.
I want Camden to reap the benefits of BF. And I want to continue to lose weight and hopefully some of my breast size that came with pregnancy.
I have a number of brochures on BF and the technics and have tried all of them, I've even gotten help while in the NICU from several nurses there, anyone with any helpful tips that worked for you?
