    Default scalding breast milk?

Iam sorry for asking this, but I have nursed 4 children, and all 4 had to pump for going to work purposes, but I had never heard of scalding the milk first? Why are some doing this? just wondering, tia!!

If you search "lipase" or "scald" you can find existing threads.

Basically, some women have an excess of lipase enzyme in their bmlk, which speeds the saponification/souring, leaving even freshly frozen milk inedible for some DBs. Scalding stops the lipase from "eating" the fats in the breastmilk.
