That breastmilk has no nutritional value after a year was apparently sorely mistaken! DD went in for her 18 month check up and she weighs a whopping 25pounds! I thought she weighed more at a year but the ped says he has her written down at 19lbs at 12 months so she's consistently gained 1lb a month since then despite eating VERY few solids (some days not at all) and being extremely active. Obviously I know she needs to eat more solids but he said absolutely do not worry about her solid intake just keep offering, because the breastmilk is doing an awesome job! I was starting to doubt if it was enough to sustain her but apparently it is. What a relief

We had a similar experience -- virtually no solids until 2 years, and yet no nutritional deficits.... GO BREASTMILK
