    Default Mastitis

Pretty sure I am getting over mastitis. Noticed a plugged duct up high in my arm pit yesterday morning. Tried to work it out with massage and nursing like I always do but by 9 pm I was running a low grade fever. Took a warm shower thinking that might help but when I got out of the shower I was freezing. Took my temp again and it was 100.7. The plugged duct seemed to be hurting more than usual and not localized. Nursed all night and day today starting each feeding with the "bad boob" as my husband calls it. Used a microwave heating pad before nursing a few times and in between feedings. Feeling much better now. Fever is gone and the soreness is starting to go away. Glad I didn't have to get antibiotics!

Sounds like a close call--glad you got it headed off early. The 'real' thing is no fun!
