Default What have you taken for a cold to get through a day at the office?

Like many people this time of year I've now gotten the cold that DS and DH had a few weeks ago. It's a head cold and I've read the info on how antihistamines aren't good for milk supply. If anyone has natural remedies or other things that have worked I'd love to hear about them.

-Keep up the fluids to help with milk supply
-Eat well-soup, salads...etc. You need it for you and for your milk as well

-I've used a warm mist humidifier with Vicks in it (the same one for my DS). If you don't have one there are also night lights with Vicks in it for approx. $10 at your local drug store.

-non-menthol soothing throat drops. I prefer Ricola or Luden's myself. I think you need to stay away from anything though that has zinc/echinacia...etc. in it.

    -Tylenol for aches/pains regular strength
-When I get home from picking DS up, I try and nurse him down for a short nap and I can get some rest. When all else fails, I've been known to set my cell phone alarm and catch a few winks in my car/office at lunch.

If you have ?s about BF and drugs try this website:
www.safefetus.com -my MD referred me to it.

Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

Tylenol and lots of tea and honey. And lots of OJ. Plenty of water. Brothy soups.

    Rest when you can.
