My SIL had her baby on Monday. He was born 5 wks early via c-section because they found that his intestines were growing outside of his body. They have been slowly sucking the intestines back into his belly, and he is scheduled to be sewn up sometime today.
After this, it will be 3-6 more weeks before he is able to digest anything. My SIL has been pumping and really wants to breastfeed. I can't imagine the struggle she must be going through right now, and I worry that it might get too difficult for her and that she might give up on having to pump for so long before she is able to nurse; and then there's the possibility that her baby will have trouble nursing, too. I want her to have the best chance possible, though.
So, I thought I would ask on here if any of you have had similar experiences that you wouldn't mind me sharing with her. I think it would help her to learn of other mothers' successes to help her keep her own hopes up.
Post them here or PM (I'm gonig to clean out my inbox right now to make sure there's enough room). I thank you profusely in advance
