    Default Baby drinking cereal

My LO is 6 1/2 months old. I started him on baby oatmeal mixed with breastmilk at 6 months. The first few times I fed him with a spoon, he took it well. I even had to thicken the mixture for him to like it more. Now, the last couple of nights, he wants nothing to do with the spoon. When I finally put the spoon down, he reached for the bowl and brought it to his mouth. He "drank" it right down! Anybody else have experience with this? Should I keep offering it to him with a spoon first, or just let him sip out of the bowl? He knows how to drink from a cup because I've been offering him sips of water after "supper."

I think that letting him do it himself is great! he figured out how to get the cereal.... with my dd I will pre-load a spoon and give it to her. If he doesn't like the spoon you could try to give him super soft finger foods.
