    But at least he will have a chance to have mama's milk. Are you going to eliminate anything from your diet?

    I'm gonna wait and see if I can get milk first. If I can I'll eliminate his known allergens. Or maybe try to get on the exact same diet as him- I'm not sure yet.

    My journey nursing MJ started HERE, but we got through it and she breastfed 19.5 months, self-weaned on 5/17/09


    Mom to my current nursling, DS - "ME" born 10/2009 @ 10lbs 1oz, 22.25" He's 4 years old! And yup, he's still nursing.

    Thanks for the encouragement and kind words everyone. I'm uncomfortable with praise.

    She just wanted to be able to do it so badly and was so upset when she found out she couldn't. I could relate. And her baby does deserve breast milk, even if it's coming from another mama. It made me realize how lucky I have been to nurse my babies as long as I did.

    One thing that I read about relactating is you need the baby to suck as the breast to make the milk come back. I am not sure if that is true, but at any rate good luck to you. You are a good person for doing this for your friend.
    My little surprise born 2 December 2009 7 lbs 1 oz 20 inches.

    Our goal is 1 year, but I'm willing to go 2!

    good for you. however it turns out it is a beautiful gift.
