Default Doesn't want to feed himself

My almost 10 month old has been very interested in solids the last 2 months and picking up and feeding himself as much as he wants. Then, he throws it on the floor and seems full and happy. The last few days though he feeds himself a few bites and sits there and cries and opens his mouth and yells for more but doesn't want to do it himself. If I take it off his tray he screams and reaches for it. I tried to feed him a bite and he wanted it so gave him some more and when he was done he shook his head no and closed his mouth. That isn't exactly baby led though if I'm doing it although he really seems to still want more. Is this a phase? Should I help him or not? Never experienced this before.

Do you think he wants it but maybe his teeth are bothering him? How about some frozen fruits or veggies? See if he likes that? We did frozen mangoes, peaches, broccoli, carrots, french fries, etc. you get the idea.

I didn't think of that but his top teeth are coming in so thanks for the tip. We'll do frozen for diner and see if that helps.
