Thread: plugged duct

    Default plugged duct

I just had a plugged duct on my left breast. I unplugged using my pump. I noticed it in the early afternoon and firs tried to get my baby to move the clog, but that didn't work so in the early evening I used my pump and that worked. Approx 2 ounces were backed up behind the plug. Can I freeze this milk?

There is nothing "wrong" with that milk. Babies unclog ducts all the time and drink the milk that comes out in the process. The milk might be a little salty tasting, but that's it. Freeze it! I'm impressed you were able to remove the clog with a pump. That is hard to do!
