Well the furniture is as put back as I'm going to do it, the air purifiers are filled and humidifiers are humming, so I'm done. DD is napping, I'm playing online and pumping and I think there's a bath for the two of us later before I have to bring us to class tonight. And I promise to drink lots of fluids.

Now the area next to where the lump was is hard. I'm still feeling okay, no fever, chills or nausea, and the discomfort is no worse than a bruised feeling. My breast is very visibly bruised. I just hope this all goes away on its own.

Honestly it is probably just healing. Is the bruise changing colors? Make sure it is so you know it's going away. It sounds like whatever popped made a reaction in your breast and gave you a bruise. It's probably sore from being popped, drained, etc. Stay positive, don't dwell on it. Just keep nursing, and remember that you will nurse her no matter what happens, you can do it

That makes sense. Thanks megboo33! This whole mess hasn't seemed to affect DD at all.

The bruise is spreading and changing colours, just like a normal healing bruise. Which helps marginally when a tiny little six-month-old hand pushes into my breast and makes me want to climb a wall.

And of course I had to do more cleaning today. Ugh.

It's good that it's changing colors indicating healing, but it does suck when they press down on a sore breast The times I've had mastitis (painful and very sore) she'll press down or even to carry her against the breast is like torture! Especially when bfing because she loves to slam her hand on my chest!

Thanks for the PM, I got back to you

Kirsten: That is kind of odd that the bruise is spreading, I just hope that it doesn't indicate infection in your breast. Is it swollen? Is is super sensitive? I understand about avoiding the doctor, I'm not on health insurance yet, DH's benefits hit in April. But if it gets serious I would say go, or at least get in touch with an LC. I'm getting a little worried. Are you feeling really drained? Just watch out for signs of infection and stuff. again. Keep us updated too.
