    Default teething and refusing food

lila is 15 mos, cutting a few canines and a molar, and refusing almost ALL foods. i know that it's normal and all that, but my question/dilemma is: if the only things she'll eat are "bad" for her, or nutritionally superfluous (she will eat chinese noodles at any second of the day and loves veggie straws), should i give her those things to get something in her belly? esp at night, i LOATHE the idea of putting her to sleep with only bm in there.

i KNOW i'm not making enough milk to fill her up, and the only other drinks she gets are water, and on special occasion a couple of ounces of diluted juice or whole milk.

so, crap food to put something in there, or nothing?

    sigh

try writting down the foods she eats over a week and I bet she is getting more then you think.
I found that my kids all lived on air about that age!
Keep offering. I found they would eat more when we were sitting down together as a family.

thanks. you're right, i know she's getting more than i think. esp b/c it's little bits here and there all day.

this is horrible, but we don't have a dining table! we sold it when we moved b/c our living space is SO small, and decided that we'd do TV trays. i never thought about it having an impact on lila's eating, i just thought she'd sit there in her chair while we sat in front of our trays, and we'd all eat.

she ALWAYS eats better out of her chair. if she's out and about, walking around, she'll keep taking bites of whatever i give her. esp if we're away from home. it's the weirdest and most frustrating thing.

Can you make high calorie smoothies or popsicles for her?

she'll do smoothies, and likes popscicles.. for some reason i just always like to see her eating food at mealtimes, esp lunch and dinner.

If she likes Chinese noodles, how about trying whole wheat spaghetti or soba (Japanese buckwheat noodles)?
