Default what pacifier is closest to my nipple?

We made it to 3 weeks with no pacifier. My little girl should have been named jaws so we are anxiously looking for a good one so we can get our fingers and toes back. Recomendations?

    thanks!

My nurse at the hospital recommended the "soothie" paci. My ds loves it. Keep in mind that places like kellymom suggest waiting to offer a paci until the baby is at least 3 to 4 weeks and preferably after the 6 week growth spurt to avoid nipple confusion. It does not happen to all babies, but you do not want it happening to yours!

I will also recommend the Soothie pacifier! My girls NEVER liked the infant ones, so we stuck with the newborn style- even when my oldest was 3 1/2 years old! Here's a link. You can get them pretty much anywhere- try Walmart or Target!

Another vote for the Soothie paci- we had some that we were going to wait to introduce for a few weeks but the nurses ended up giving him one in the hospital after his circumcision. (Arg) No nipple confusion though, and it's turned out to be a life-saver as I have some oversupply and forceful letdown so he can rarely comfort suck without getting furious at getting milk, or going to town on just the nipple (ouch!). This way I cuddle him while he sucks on the paci and he will usually fall asleep or be content that way and he still gets comforting snuggle time with me or daddy.

my Bella wouldnt take the soothie, the only one she would take was the NUK ones which are sold everywhere from grocery stores to walmart and she never had nipple confusion

My son used a soothie at first, and then we switched to Gerber pacies. They are shaped a lot like the nipple as well, but they are flat on top. We ended up using these as opposed to the soothies, and still use them!

My little one doesn't like the Soothies but she seems to do just fine with the Avent orthodontic paci.
