Good job mama, way to stick to it! That's just what you need DS had jaundice and bad latch problems and slept a lot when he was born. Things got better after and he gained fine. It sounds like the gestational age thing could really be a problem and I think you are doing everything right, especially waking him up every two hours. Just hang in there and things WILL get better!

No she didn't even check his levels and said he was fine. It would clear on its own.

We are using a syringe. I'm way too lazy to get bottles, lol.

How long should I pump for after each time we try to nurse?

    How long is he nursing?

Is he nursing on one side or both? You could nurse one side and pump the other if he's only taking one breast.

    Are you doing breast compressions?

It might be worth it to get an IBCLC for hands on help.

My pedi is an IBCLC so I had her help today and she watched Colby nurse. She said he has a great latch and she showed me how to do breast compressions.

Awesome! How cool to have all in one.

Depending on how you think a feeding went, I would pump 10-15 minutes. Do
you have a hands free setup (old sports bra with slits cut for
    the horns to slide through)?

If you are going to be pumping a lot, it will be a lifesaver for you so you can hold your boys while pumping.

We are going to supplement too for now. Just got off the phone with my pedi..... he only had 1 wet and zero dirties all day. And my pumping is only drops now.

I hate this option, but I don't feel comfortable with how lethargic he is and his output.

    Ugh.

Am I banned from here now?

I need encouragement that this is only for a few days.

    Oh Lisa... x a million!

I love you and am proud of you and I would never ban you! You're his momma and you have to do what YOU think is best. I supplemented with M at the very beginning for the same reasons. Within a few days, she was nursing like a true champ, my milk was in, and the jaundice was behind us.

YOU CAN DO THIS!!!! I completely, 100%, absolutely beleive in you!

Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies - Damn it, you've got to be kind. - Kurt Vonnegut
