    Default spaghetti?

DD3 is 9 mos and she is trying all sorts of foods that I didn't expect! I posted once before about mac & cheese...she's now tried spaghetti & spaghettios. Is that ok?

I think we waited on the tomato based sauces just because they are so acidic and they were harder on him (they still are!) but he was eating pastas and cut spaghetti early on IIRC.

Hard on him how? She, so far, seems to be ok. She ate the spaghettios yesterday at lunch and nothing was different. The actual spaghetti was tonight. She got a little fussy this evening but, I think she was just tired and ready for bed a little early.

He has a hard time with tomatoes. Like when he goes poo he gets a burny like rash...ouch. So we don't do much that has tomatoes yet. When we do pasts we do it with butter & parm. yummy!

Ok, that red butt is what I was figuring on watching for. Nothing yet...we'll see though cuz I imagine actual spaghetti is harder to handle than spaghettios.

At Kelly mom I believe the recommendation is to wait on all things acidic until the year point, tomatoes oranges, ect. HTH.

I'd just watch her and see how she does. DD was having stuff with tomato based sauces at that age, but it never bothered her. In fact, spaghetti is still her favourite meal and the one thing I know she'll always eat. She'd probably eat it every day if I let her. She also loves plain old raw tomato.

I did wait on giving her straight citrus like oranges until she was older than a year just in case, but tomato stuff was never an issue for us. All babies and what their bums can handle are different I s'pose!

You might want to be aware of how much salt there is in the sauce, especially with the spaghettios. Look at the label too to see what chemicals are in there. Personally, that would concern me more than the tomatoes, as long as there's not any diaper rash. Homemade sauce might be a little better at this age. Just my 2cents though.

Yes. I forgot about the salt thing. Their livers actually can't process it until after the year point. Good call on the spaghettios.

Ok, maybe I'm being over paranoid here but, are you saying I could have damaged her liver because of the spaghettios?
