    Default pump membranes question

I have read several suggestions here to change the membranes on a pump. Why would that ever be necessary? My PISA came with an extra set but I can't imagine why you would have to change them.

They can get old and brittle and then the suction doesn't work as well. I know it seems strange, but it's true.

If your pump output drops, it's an easy thing to check and make sure that's not the problem.

I pumped for over 1 year & never needed to change mine. I used 2 sets of parts for sometime though. Like PP said, just check for wear and tear.
