    Default birth control pill

my son is 16 months old and still nursing.

My doctor prescribed Tricyclen to me (for birth control) and am wondering if its better to hold off on taking this while nursing (it says it can go through breast milk) or will affect my milk supply?

Andrea's link says it all. If you really want to use hormonal contraception, the mini-pill is probably a better choice than the regular pill, in that it's less likely to sink your supply.

This page shows you all your birth control options- there are plenty of non-hormonal ones on the list. Personally, I used a combination of FAM and a diaphragm with spermicide, and had perfect success.
