I feel like they don't even use common sense when they think about these things!
As a biologist, let me just say: AMEN, SISTER!!!! Evolutionarily, our BM has been the perfect nutrition for our babies--and then for our KIDS--throughout humanity! How a DOCTOR could think otherwise is beyond me!

I must brag here: my youngest son's ped. forgets all the time that I still BF, and is absolutely delighted to re-hear it every time we see her! I mean, she practically jumps up and down and claps her hands!

Oh, and one other thought - if he gags and chokes on food - why would switching to food be better for him, especially if he's already 30 lbs on only your bm??? He sounds healthy to me! Keep up the good work!
