I have recently begun pumping exclusively in order to relactate. I have been getting some milk but the amount seems to vary drastically. I am a 38 H cup with nipples the size of the tip of a pinky finger. I am using a medela symphony and pump very frequently. I was wondering if anyone else has large breasts and pumps and what size of shield they use. All that I have read says that I am to adjust the size of the flange to my nipple, but am finding that the flange doesn't even cover my areola. Should I be using a large or extra large flange regardless of my nipple size in order to accomodate my breast? It is very uncomfortable to pump and I really need this to work. I also want to make the time I spend pumping to be as efficient as possible. I was thinking of ordering the pumpin pals tilted flanges but I live in Canada and in order to buy them and get them sent to me they charge $50 US. Outrageous!
Any ideas would be great.
