Dealing with the same... My daughter is almost 2.

For the last month (after a terrible head cold, sinus infection, and 4 day long fever) I have had extremely sore nipples.. The base of them is actually splitting, like a dry lip.

I have used every ointment, baking soda, oil, and today I will try the afterbirth tea/herb that I used (2 years ago, after tearing and refusing stitches)...

She knows not to use her teeth. She even says, "be very careful"...
I can't get them healed up and it's ruining the tail end of her nursing experience.

I've had to take her down to no more than before night bed nursing (maybe) and first thing in the morning (and some days it's one or the other).

I don't think it's Thrush... looking into that now.

I don't know what to do - and it's not her teeth.

    .
This is what was happening to me, although it's much better now. Now the end of one nipple is so sore. I've been block feeding to try to let it heal. Idk why what's happening. It's not thrush, we've determined.

I'm struggling w/the decision to wean him totally, or cut him back to once a day, in the evening before bed. I'm not sure what I'm ready for...and I know he wants to keep up morning nursing!
