    Default Avocado?

I've never purchased one before, but I bought one the other day for Brody. How do I know if it's ripe enough? It's quite dark green, but it very firm. I think I've read there should be a gentle yield when you apply pressure? Does it sound okay to give to him, or should I wait a couple days?

If it's very firm it's probably not ripe. You could put it in a paper sack for a day or two and that should ripen it up. Or if you have any bananas, set it with them (they emit a chemical that ripens things).

Yay! We have bananas (that also aren't ripe). I'll try that. Thanks Paige!
