    Default new foods and constipation

We're just starting my LO on some solids this week, she's just 6 months now and is SOOOO interested in food, can sit up and loved the oatmeal baby ceral she got last night. Later I read it had iron in it and have heard horror stories about babies becoming constipated after starting solids...

Any ideas of how to avoid this or foods to avoid that might cause this?

I don't want to cause her anymore pain than the pain she's already in from teething....

Skip the rice cereal. It's a know constipator. Also avoid Bananas. Always breastfeed 1st and feed food with fiber in. Or P foods. Pears, Plums Peaches.

    Way too lazy for formula

yup and at that age its ok to go back to just breastfeeding for a few days if her poops get to hard and then after they are normal again start solids again slowly!

I've been using oatmeal (not rice) baby ceral, I've heard it's better... has anyone used this or barley ceral?

Do babies not need the ceral (or iron in it) at all? I'm still EBF and always nurse her an hour before giving her any food...

iron that is added to ceral is hard for the body to absorb.
