Default lumps under arm, feeling yucky

    Hi Mamas,

I have had some lumps under both arms for the past 3 days. The right arms seems to be resolving, but the left arm - youch! I have tried massage, warm compresses, Advil, stretching. Nothing seems to work.

My daughter had a good long sleep on Monday night, and I woke up engorged on both sides...

Now I am starting to feel flushed and yucky - but no fever. Any ideas on what this is? I'm thinking clogged ducts, but

Any advice on home remedies or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated!

    TIA, Mamas!

I know that for me, I got a nasty lump in my left armpit when I first became engorged. What helped me was while feeding my son on the left side, I would rub on the lump as much as I could stand it. It seemed to go away after about 2 days.

Be careful that it doesn't turn into mastitis?

Yes it sounds like a plugged duct, and the begining of mastitis.

    http://www.kellymom.com/bf/concerns/mom/mastitis.html - lots of info

most important - you can still nurse with mastitis, nurse lots!

If it doesn't get better, check in with your OB. But, whatever you do, DON'T PUMP INSTEAD OF NURSING!!! Nurse as much as you can!

I had a lump under my arm and the doc said it was enlarged lymph node. It went away on its own but the doc said it could be enlarged bc it was trying to fight an infection. Good Luck!

Good!! I am so glad. I know that it can be painful - even to lift your arm!
