    Question Band-aid on nipple OK?

Ok. So maybe I'm being dramatic about the bandaid..but I am [B]DESPERATE FOR HELP/RELIEF[B]I posted recently about my one nipple being really sore when she would nurse from it, well a few days ago when I posted that, there was nothing noticable on my nipple, and now, there's like this swollen little cut when I look down at it on the top part of the nipple, like right where the nip meets the aerola.(sp?)And it causes agonizing unbearable pain when she nurses...of course not only that, but this little girl here insists on playing with the nipple she is not nursing on, rolling it in her fingers (You all may find that weird..I think I'm alone on this one, but she has to do it, she loves it! She frantically reaches for it with her hand every time she nurses It's normally really cute)but I can't get any relief at all when she is nursing, it just hurts like hell.. is there anything I can do to treat this cut/blister/I have no idea what it is?? I feel like I would have noticed if she bit me or scratched me..

I'm not really sure about the injury, but it might offer you a little relief from the pain if she has something else to play with during her nursing sessions. Something like a nursing necklace.

Twiddling while nursing is really common. I have to cover my other nipple to keep DD from doing it, but she often twiddles my belly button too or slaps my chest.

I would try to squeeze a little breast milk on the sore spot, air out, and use lanoln.

I was thinking maybe lanolin..I have to get some more, I lost what I used to have... I think... (need to go check again) but the BM I can give a shot..it's kinda scabbed.. ya know? Youch..today's a tough one, because it is just hurting now withut her even being on it, I feel so bad because she is exhausted ready for her nappy..which should have happened an hour ago, and I can't stand to go nurse the poor girl! It hurts! God I feel like a wimp, I had alot of bad pain the first few weeks when my nipple were adjusting to her sucking...but this... oh sigh, OW. Yes she will reach for my belly button sometimes also, then just start to slap me (gently..but slap)

Thank you very much for the link andrea! I never take the time to check out kellymom..as much as I recommend it! lol, I just haven't had any issues recently until now..and now she is starting to do it on the other side as well, she has a small gap inbetween her two top front teeth, and my bf thinks she is sucking part of my areaola inbetween there while she's sucking, also she pulls my breast alot and stretches it as she eats..ugh, it;s just going to be hard to get her to stop, because she is so set in her ways, ya know? Yikes.. I hope this doesn't continue to get worse...

Could you nurse on the good nipple and pump on the hurt one then give your lo the ebm? This might give your nipple time to heal. And give that tactile little gal something else to fiddle with. The necklace is a good suggestion or maybe something like a bottle nipple placed *over* your real one...might fool her?

btw - I think the nipple twiddling is cute.

It is quite adorable...huh? I really have always loved when she does it because it's just routine, she has to do it while nursing..but with the pain.... gaaaaaah!! She won't take a bottle
