Default When do I make bigger bottles?

Do I need to start thinking about 6 or 8 ounce bottles for my LO? She is almost 6 mo & just recently went from nursing one side for 5-6 minutes to nursing both sides for a total of 15 minutes!
I thought I read somewhere that they take in roughly the same amt of BM up to a year?

You don't need to make bigger bottles. The breast switching may have to do with the weather. I noticed that in the summer, DJ would want both breasts instead of just one. I assumed it was because he was THRISTY rather than hungry and was looking for the more watery foremilk.
The rule of thumb is 1-1.5 oz for every hour away from you. It doesn't really change. If you started with 3oz servings than maybe you need to move to 4 or 5. But I NEVER gave DJ one of those bigger bottles ever.

When I returned to work 6 weeks PP, DD was taking 4oz bottles. She is now 11.5 months and she still takes 4 oz. bottles.

when my first son was 6 months, my husband did end up making bigger bottles for him, almost 8 ounces for a few feeds a day. he was very hungry and we look back on it now and think he was going through a growth spurt. shortly after we started introducing solids and he returned to his normal 4-5 ounce bottles.

DS never took more than 4 oz. I once heard a girl bragging about how her 1 month old was drinking 8 oz of formula at a time. How could their poor little bellies hold that much?!!?!

We never went up in oz, either. I think it's because bm becomes more concentrated as they get older.

So cool that our bodies know what to make for our LOs! Question though...then how does it work to feed them from the freezer stash? Is it possible that when she gets that milk she will be hungry sooner after drinking it?
