Technically to replace nursing sessions. So if L typically nurses every 3 hours then pump every 3 hours.

I had a bit over oversupply so was pumping ALOT more than DS was taking at day care, so ended up tapering my pumping down to pretty much match what DS needed for the next day at day care (plus a little extra) and to get oversupply under control.

(I also had unresolved excess lipase issues so really couldn't do a freezer stash and was just pumping day-to-day.)

If it were *me* since this is your first day back and you won't be nursing every couple hours like normal, I would probably try to squeeze in 3 pumping sessions during the day. So maybe one session around mid-morning, one at lunchtime-ish, and one mid-afternoon. That would probably come out to about every 2-3 hours??

She nurses every 2, so I'll pump every 2-3.

When I went back to work, I only pumped when I "felt full". IDIOT! My supply dropped within a couple of weeks and then I had to FIGHT to get it back (added a session during the day and pumped before bed). I now pump four times a day - every 2-2.5 hrs and have time blocked out on my calendar with reminders set. It works for me.

Thanks everyone. It's been going well. Got 6 ounces this morning and will pump every 3, which should get me on schedule to nurse her when I get home today.
