DS is 8.5 months (almost 9 months) and hasn't eaten that much solids yet. So far he's tried rice cereal (didn't really like it), bananas (liked it), apples (didn't care for them), yams (okay), sweet potatoes (okay), carrots (okay), avocados (didn't care for them), papayas (didn't care for them) and zucchini (okay). I know his main source of nutrition is still BM, but is it normal for him not to eat more solids at this age? I was going to try BLS, but ended up steaming and mashing the food and feeding him by spoon instead. I did give him a piece of banana once and he picked it up, but ended up just mashing it in his hand. He does look interested in our food, but when I try to feed him, sometimes he'll shake his head and refuse to open his mouth and other times, he'll open his mouth and eat only a few small spoonfuls before shaking his head.
I guess I'm a little concerned because my parents told me to try to feed him more solids otherwise he won't want to eat much when he gets older, but I don't want to pressure him if he doesn't want to eat. I do try to offer him food most of the time, but some days I don't bother. Should I be offering more often? Should I really be concerned yet?
