    Default Joshua's weaning poem

Here is the poem I put in Joshua's memory box. I hope he remembers nursing

    To my Joshua

    Sweet baby boy of mine
As our nursing days are coming to an end..
Forever are they in my heart
I hold you in my arms, tighter than before
Your head nestled below my chest,
    Our eyes meet and gaze
    You tenderly drink my milk,
and I feel our separate lives
    connecting through this flowing river.
So much more than nourishment for you
You fill me with your spirit, and I fill you with mine.
For that moment we stop time,
gazing at each other peacefully, transcending all else
As your soft skin is against mine, our hearts contented
So new and gentle is your mind, and quiet are your thoughts
My thoughts full of worries, dreams, hopes and doubts
Together we collide, and bring peace to each other
for a moment we are silent, just being together
For a moment we are both comforted
these small moments of nursing you may be past
    yet forever they remain
I will never forget this special time,
As life flies by and we move about,
My baby boy becomes a confident young man
A gentle touch, or gaze here and there
Will bring us back and remind us
that we are both forever changed
In a way that only we can share.
    I love you blueberry eyes
