Question Why are my breasts achy?

Lately my breasts have been really achy. The best way for me to describe it is it feels similar to when I have had thrush, but I don't think this that is the case. I notice it most when I am not nursing. It's not so much shooting pains, but just dull achiness. If anyone has any ideas, thanks in advance.

Do you think you have a plugged duct? Here is some info that may be helpful.

Sorry you're not feeling well! Hang in there!

If it's not a return of thrush -- could also be a mix of things -- I agree with the possibility of your cycles returning. Many times, moms forget that first they ovulate and then have their periods... so, you could be ovulating and not know you're period's coming back. Does this make sense?

If the pain doesn't get better after a few days of thrush treatment, then you could be sure it wasn't thrush.... Sometimes it can be sooooo tough to be rid of thrush completely. But, since you mention pain when you're not nursing, then it might even be a poor latch-on.

You might want to try some cold compresses in between nursings to help with the pain, if needed.

take care (& keep us up to date!),

Hope this gives you some other ideas. Hang in there!

Maybe my cycles are returning. Now my breasts are just tender. I have no lumps or redness, they are just sore. The pain is bearable, and is a little worse on my right breast. Who knows? I guess I'll find out what's going on in time.
