Default now im over here :)

I went from medical conditions to here. I have a 1yr old with FTT and no supply. I cant pump anything and im working on getting donor milk and pumping/domperidone. Right now my daughter gets Pediasure and a high calorie diet, my dream is to continue giving her BM somehow and wean off Pediasure back to BF.

    Good Luck reaching your dream.

I am sorry that you are unable to pump much milk. Remember that pump output is a very poor indicator of milk supply. Many mothers with abundant milk supplies are never able to pump much. During the early months, it is perfectly normal to pump "only" 1-2 ounces per pumping session. Babies are much better at removing milk from the breast than even the best pumps. Are you able to nurse your daughter in between giving her the Pediasure and the high calorie foods?

Any luck with the milk bank testing your milk? Any luck getting milk ordered by the Doctors?

    Thinking of you.

www.mobimotherhood.com and there's a MOBI yahoo group as well. There's a big list on that site of herbs you can try. Goat's rue and shatavari seem to be the most popular and work for most moms. Also, I know one mom on the group SWEARS by Metamucil, can't hurt. She mixes 3 heaping tbsp of it in about 10ozs of water and chugs it (it turns into jello if you don't, lol). I'll try this as soon as baby gets out and it can't be bad for you pp anyways.

they dont want me to nurse... but i sneak it in there if i can. lol. I hear and see her swallowing but not big gulps the whole time. She doesnt cry after as if shes hungry and never has. I think though if she was getting quite a bit from me the weights would of shown it. kwim?
I was told i need at least 24hrs worth of pumping to get it tested since levels change throughout day. I cant get much right now so i was going to wait to see about upping my supply then before giving her any (id save what i didnt send to the bank) testing it. The LC said shed write me a script for the bank if they said i could get some. The NICU babies are first priority and then everyone else. Since Lana is 1 though she wasnt sure if she would qualify even with the FTT. I am suppose to call and talk to them again tomorrow.

Ill check out that site and see about the herbs. I didnt know that about Met. Asklenore has Dom cheap though and an LC/DR recommended it to me so at least if i went that route its a legit one.

    ETA for Peach: Its MOBImotherhood.org

I do have a question though my LLL leader was sorta unsure about in a way.
Normally the best option to building a supply is to have baby at breast as much as possible and take something to help increase supply and pump if baby wont come to breast.... BUT since im in a different pickle, Would i better off having her nurse and take something or pumping mostly and taking something?
