    Default weaning by the moon?

i've had two different WIC moms ask me about this today!

i tried to google it but didn't come up with much & am at work right now without a whole lot of time to delve deeper. anyone else heard of this or have any info about it that i may be able to pass along?

yeah, growing up on a farm we planted by the phases of the moon and some other things, but my grandma was the one who was really on top of those things and she is no longer with us... there's probably something to it.

I looked it up and most of the info I saw was regarding weaning livestock by the cycles of the moon. It's interesting. The only thing I found related to (human) nursing was this little bit of conversation on another forum.
“We are not put on earth for ourselves, but are placed here for each other. If you are there always for others, then in time of need, someone will be there for you.”

1130. If you wean a calf at the time of the full moon, it will make less fuss. You mustn’t wean it when the sign is in the belly, or it will never grow fat. Pursue the same course with a pig, or it will squeal.

    that was neat Andrea!

someone else i've asked said that weaning should begin "when the moon is in the saddle" but we're a bit confused as to what that means.
