Question Do I Throw It Out?

I have been pumping in the early morning due to being engorged and OALD. It's been working well so far. I'm not as painful as I was before and LO is no longer choking during our early morning feeding. I only pump for about 3 - 4 minutes. Just enough to take the edge off.

Now I get about 2oz. I put it in the fridge and I then go to nurse LO. I'm guessing that this is more foremilk than anything else. I just checked it in the fridge and the settling is minimal (there isn't much fat on top).

I'm thinking that if I fed this, it would cause diarrhea (i.e. that it would be an entire feeding of mainly foremilk). What do you think? Should I pitch it out?

I wouldn't toss it, but this is coming from someone who had a hard time pumping--I would keep anything, from a few drops to a few ounces! Is there any way you could freeze it, so when she starts some solids you could use it to mix in if needed?

I would freeze it. You can use it to mix with solids if necessary. Offer it in a sippy when she is older (with meals). You could put chunks of the frozen milk in a mesh feeder when she is teething. Foremilk is better than no milk, and you never know what could happen down the road. I would keep it

    Consider it kept.

Whew! As someone who had [a lot of] trouble pumping, the thought of throwing bm away belongs on my list of nightmares.
