    Exclamation Worried mom needs help!

Hi there ! Ok I need some words of wisdom

My 9 week old daughter is exclusively breast fed .

I have breastfed 5 other kids to 12 months or longer .So I'm suprised I haven't encountered this before now.

For the first 8.5 weeks Alisons poops were mustardy yellow and seedy as breastfed baby poops are .

For the last 6 days we'll say they have been a yellow green mix and seedy in the mornings and throughout the day they have been slightly mucousy and not so seedy , they are yellow to green in color and in 2 diapers I have seen a pin head sized amount of blood .

I called my doc , he says oh its probably over supply or maybe dairy bothering her . So I've done my reading ... and I suppose thats what it could be , but why didn't it bother her until 6 days ago ?

I have noticed that when let down happens she chokes and sputters ... soI suppose my supply has recently increased .

What can I do to correct this ?

Thanks in advance for your responses

Check out the above link. OALD can contribute to a foremilk/hindmilk imbalance which can cause green mucosy poops.

Here are a couple more links you might find helpful:

    Thanks to everyone .

It really does seem to be an over supply issue . Especially after reading that supply often peaks around week 8 and that is when we began having issues.

I'm not 100 % sure with the tiny amount of blood in the stools , but my doctor says correcting the over supply should fix everything and the amount is so miniscule its not in itself a worry.

So as long as she is happy and gaining well (which she seems to be born at 5lbs14.5 oz and 11.5 lbs now at 9 weeks) I should try not to worry while we work out the oversupply issue !

    Just an update
Yesterday and all night I fed from one side only, and suprise - Alisons poops are returning to normal , I guess oversupply is the culprit .
Thanks again for your advice and links, very much appreciated
