Default He refused to eat while I was gone

I went to watch a play last night that my sister was in and left enough expressed milk for ds2. When I came home, nearly five hours later, the milk was in the bottle - untouched. Dh said that ds2 would NOT take the bottle. Just flat out refused. I felt sooooo bad. I didn't even think to tell hubby to try a sippy cup or syringe before I left so the whole time I was gone all dh could get him to eat was a little sweet potato and about an ounce of water

He did go to sleep fine, however when I went to bed he woke up and nursed like someone starved. . . and tried to stay latched the entire night

The thing is, he's taken bottles before. He had bottles when he was about two months for an afternoon I spent with my mom. He had bottles a couple of times during ds2 softball games this summer when I was helping to coach. He had bottles when he was four months and I had to do a wedding. Now, altogether he probably only had maybe 10 or 12 bottles, but do you think he could forget how to use the bottles since July??

No, I don't think he has forgotten, he just has an opinion....the first of many

I have had similar experiences with my DS (8 mos on 11/24). He will refuse the bottle/cup with expressed milk until I return from running errands. He will perk up when I return and would rather nurse than drink from the bottle or cup.

He gets the cup everyday and most days his dad will make a bottle (expressed milk) when he comes home in the evening. Somedays he will happily drink from the cup or bottle---and somedays he just does not want it.

DS also forgot to nurse when he was about 7 months old. It had been about 4 months since he'd had a bottle. He had no clue what to do with it.

He hasn't had one since and now he is FINALLY learning to drink from a cup at 12 months old.
