Default Hurts like the early days

I don't know if DD (10 1/2 months) is getting another tooth or what, but her latch HURTS. Every time. And it's so bad that yesterday I actually cried silently while she was nursing to sleep, trying not to cringe b/c I really needed her to take a nap. I've got another browser window open with the info from kellymom on when baby isn't really biting, just scraping... can anyone share their experience with this? Was it a temporary thing? (<---- the answer better be yes! )

My DD does it with every tooth she gets. Only 4 to go. Not that anyone's counting.

from time to time DS gets a "lazy latch" that I have to correct as if he's an infant! I haven't noticed if it coinsides with teething

Any chance you are ovulating? That caused nasty pain for me.

Could be... I haven't gotten AF back yet.

I'm pretty sure it's her teeth. Today I felt sick to my stomach it hurt so bad, but I just beared down and did it anyway because I needed her to nurse to sleep. The area where her top teeth are "landing" is puffy and irritated, and there might even be a tiny abrasion or cut. Worst of all, I'm not getting any relief b/c I only nurse on one side.

I've tried elevating her body more, turning it toward me more, etc. but nothing is working. Help!

definitely hurts when a tooth is coming in and when I'm ovulating I cannot stand for ds2 to nurse. I only tolerate it to get him to sleep too.

Nope, not pregnant. And it seems like this tooth has been taking a super long time to come in. But her top teeth are pretty much all the way in now so I think she is "using" them. It definitely feels like scraping teeth.

I'm sure you've done this, but have you gone back to the basics...is your nipple pointing toward the roof of her mouth when she goes to latch on? Does she have fish lips when she nurses? Try pulling her head closer. When DD got her first teeth I did notice some pain, but maybe the skin just had to get used to it?
