    Default pump weaning ?

Okay so I used to pump 3x per day while at work. Ideally, what I want is to nurse at night and on weekends; so I cut down the pumping to 2x today and I was gonna continue this for about 1 month and then do 1x per day for a month or so and then stop pumping.

My question is...is this really possible (to nurse only on weekends and nights)? And if so am I going about it correctly?

    TIA

Yes! I was pumping 3x's a day at work as well and am now fully pump weaned. DD still nurses to bed, 1-2x's a night, and upon waking up in the a.m. On the weekend I nurse her down for her nap and any other time she asks. I haven't experienced/noticed any changes in my supply.

Sounds like you are doing well with dropping a session at a time. That's exactly how I did it.

It sounds like you have a good plan. Just be patient. It took me a few more weeks than I expected to pump wean. When I first started pump weaning, I had to cut out all daytime nursing sessions on the weekends, too, because my body really likes to make a lot of milk. Once my body got the picture that I didn't "need" milk during the day anymore then I could go back to nursing DD during the day on the weekends without being engorged during the day on weekdays.

Now we pretty much nurse two times in the morning and two times in the evening and maybe one extra session on weekend days.

I am working on pump weaning too... What is described above is exactly what I want to do! Right now I am down to pumping once at work, and then I usually pump once more after DD has gone to bed. I usually end up with a daily total of about 8-10 ounces, which I have been sending to daycare with DD in bottles, usually increments of 3-4 ounces.

So now we are working on trying to get DD to drink cow's milk! She HATES it, undiluted... She will still drink BM out of a bottle, and she will drink a half-n-half mixture of formula & cow's milk out of a bottle, but she will not drink any of it out of a sippy, which is what we really need her to do. Daycare has been offering her cow's milk in a sippy during & after meals, but she will have nothing to do with it. So they just give her the BM in a bottle... She has to be able to drink milk (any kind) from a sippy before she can transition up to the next room, and she's just not having it.
