    Exclamation Water Contamination - HELP

Something at our water treatment plant broke and we are on a boil advisory - I'm not worried about dd getting the water, but I feel sick!!! I'm wondering if i got contaminated and if it will get into my milk!!! I have left over frozen from dc, so i'm using that and pumping, but should i dump?? if anyone has any knowledge of this please let me know... i'm going to try and look on the references and other sites

Sorry . Boil all tap water before drinking.

Is it possible to buy bottled water until they fix the situation? Bottled water are usually tested and safe even for babies.

If I'm not mistaken, I don't think you need to pump and dump. I know with stomach viruses, lo cannot catch the bug via BM. I would think it would be the same if you are ill from contaminated water

yes, we are boiling anything that we need to use, which we drink bottled water anyway. dd can't take a bath tonight either. I had a cup of tea this morning and that was all the water i took in besides brushing my teeth, I just really feel like

I read on the kellymom site that it was ok to continue bfing as long as the bacteria didn't get into my blood stream, which i'm assuming i would feel 10X worse...

dd just drank 4 oz down and was looking or more...

she's on an antibiotic for an ear infection anyway... I'm going with nursing her and see what happens. I know that not too much bad stuff can go through the bm...
    she is on and happy

If you are sick, just make sure to wash your hands very carefully and everything will be fine. Your milk will be full of antibodies to whatever pathogen is being passed around, and that will help your baby fight off the illness if she gets exposed.

    yup Keep on nursing!

Septic it would be in your blood and you'd be on iv at the hospital....

are you able to eat and drink?
Sometimes when you force yourself to eat and drink you don't get as sick!
