    Question Dental Work While Nursing?

The dentist recently told me that I have a small cavity that should be filled (my first). Is it safe to have this work done while I'm nursing? Has anyone been through this?

I had to have lots of dental work done after my second and I was nursing.. I told my dentist and he used a different kind of novicaine that was supose to be better for my system.. But my Dr. told me not to worry as long as the effects of the drugs where not effecting me anymore.. It would be safe to nurse.. She said she was more worried about me dropping the baby or drooling on her...LOL..

I had two fillings and a partial crown done on Wednesday. I looked up all of the ingredients in the numbing shots and everything was fine!

I have work to be done as well and was worried about mercury because I have old amalgam (sorry if I spelled that wrong) fillings. Here is a link about mercury http://www.kellymom.com/health/chemical/mercury.html

So what you're saying is, I have to go through with it!

Guess I won't be canceling the appointment....

    Thanks for the information!

I had a root canal and full crown put on while pregnant AND nursing. No issues here (other than that I HATE going to the dentist). Better to take care of them while they are small. I didn't and thus had the root canal, to the tune of $2200 for the procedure and the crown
