    Default still taking prenatal vitamins?

My LO is 15 months old now. We are nursing 2x/day still. Should I still be taking a prenatal vitamin?

I did and I would continue to do so as long as I was nursing.

agree with pp. I've been on mine since August 2004. First for conception & pregnancy, then for nursing and then because of wanting a 2nd child.

So if you're thinking of having more kids then you may find it easier to just stay on rather than restarting them a couple months prior to trying to conceive. (Aside: I stress this because of the folate in the vit.s: remember it's in the 2nd month of prenatal life that the fetus' neural tube closes so some moms don't even know they are pregnant yet before the damage is done).

Agree with the pp's. My DD I'm nursing is 11 months and I'm still taking them. Been taking them since we began TTC, way back in June '06 (conceived in Jan '07). My OB said to keep taking them as long as I'm nursing and/or TTC.

We're at nearly 2-1/2 yrs, and yes, I'm still taking my prenatals, too. The pediatrician said to stay on them as long as I'm nursing, and my insurance has continued to pay their share.
