    Unhappy Bifidobacterium

    Hi everyone,
Just wondering about the bacteria Bifidobacterium--I bought Dannon Activa yoghurt in the supermarket and ate half a container before questioning whether I should consume it while breastfeeding. I then looked it up on the internet and it said to consult a doctor before consume when pregnant or nursing! Does anyone know about this? Thank you!

Bifidus is a "friendly" bacteria that is naturally found in the gut. It is said to help aid in digestion and keep "bad" bacteria in check. Acidophilus is another "friendly" bacteria that you might have heard of.

The following are NOT LLL resources, but you might find the information helpful:

This is information directly from Dannon (Note it is a commercial site)
